Terms and Conditions for Property Owners If you wish your property to be promoted as a film location by The Space Men we reserve the right to display any photographic images that you provide on our website www.thespacemen.com and on the website of www.thecastingsuite.co.uk (The Casting Suite is the parent company and provides our web technology) The Space Men will not undertake any hiring of any property on behalf of an owner without the express permission of the owner. The rate agreed with the hirer will be expressly agreed by the owner and confirmed by email from The Space Men to the owner. The Space Men will invoice the hirer for the full fee and, on receipt and clearance of their cheque, forward the owner a cheque for the fee, less our 20% commission. The Space Men will ensure that the hirer has public liability insurance and will hold evidence of the policy in its offices at 8-10 Lower James Street, London W1F 9EL. The Space Men will provide a standard contract which will be entered into between the hirer and the location owner. The location owner will receive a signed copy of the contract prior to the commencement of the hire period. Location fees are normally calculated on the basis of a ten-hour day commencing at 8.00am and concluding at 6.00pm. Overtime will apply after 6pm and will be charged at a negotiated rate and be subject to availability. All location overtime will be invoiced by The Space Men and will be subject to payment by the hirer within fourteen days. The location owner should consider themselves contracted to deal with the first agent who contacts them about a project. Therefore you should advise The Space Men when called if you are already dealing with another agent for a particular job. Should you later decide to deal with another agent, having already been contacted by The Space Men about the same project, we reserve the right to charge a commision of 20% + VAT of the original hire fee discussed.
Terms and Conditions for Location Hirers Within these Terms and Conditions a film or photographic production company, or event company, may also be referred to as “The Hirer”. And the location owner will be referred to as “The Location Owner.” The Space Men will only deal with bona fide film and photographic and event productions and, for security reasons, will often ask for references before organising recces of the properties they represent. The Space Men will charge a library fee of £250 + VAT for any confirmed booking of consecutive days or weeks. Broken bookings requiring separate contracts will be subject to further library fees of £200 + VAT per booking. This fee is payable prior to the commencement of the shoot or event. The hire period cannot commence until this fee has been received. The agreed location fee + VAT will also be paid to The Space Men prior to the commencement of the shoot or event. The hire period cannot commence until this fee is received. Location fees are normally calculated on the basis of a ten-hour day commencing at 8.00am and concluding at 6.00pm. Preparation days, strike days and damage reinstatement days required at the location will be charged at 50% of the original day hire rate. All invoices for additional fees are subject to payment within fourteen days. Once the hirer has received details about a specific location from The Space Men, the hirer undertakes to deal with The Space Men for any hiring of that location for a period of 12 months regardless of the type and duration of the production. All location hirings will be subject to a contract provided by the The Space Men and entered into by the Hirer and the Location Owner. The Hirer will also provide documentary evidence of their public liability insurance. The Location Owner will reserve the right to abort the hiring if the Hirer fails to produce this. |
